![]() You’ll want to be able to move your baby from facing inward to facing outward when they begin to have head control they’ll enjoy being able to see the world in front of them. These positions are fairly standard-all the carriers I tested offer at least three positional options (and some, like the Líllébaby, offer six). You can wear the Omni Breeze in four configurations, supporting children from 7 to 45 pounds: Front-facing inward, front-facing outward, a hip carry and a back carry. Functional Add-Ons And Plenty Of Adjustability The polyester material was easy to wipe down after spit-ups and blowouts, and the Omni Breeze stood up well to a machine wash: It air-dried within about 12 hours, which was faster than the other carriers I tested. The mesh also makes the carrier quite lightweight (just over 2 pounds). And during a long day at the airport wearing a sweaty baby, I especially appreciated the breathability. While I tested this in the winter and didn’t need extra venting, it did make for a distinctly non-sweaty experience, even indoors (which is not always the case when you have a baby pressed directly up against your body). This carrier’s predominant feature is its SoftFlex Mesh makeup, which is a mesh-like polyester weave that allows for extra breathability for the baby and the caregiver. Jenni Gritters For Forbes Vetted An Extra Breathable Carrier That’s Easy To Clean The comfortable Ergobaby Omni Breeze felt well suited to active pursuits, including hikes. And the carrier was flexible enough to allow me to feed my daughter a bottle on the go, even while hiking. All the straps on the Omni Breeze can be tightened with one hand, which is essential if you’re babywearing at home on your own. Other carriers I liked, such as the Baby Tula Explore, were difficult to put on alone due to the placement of the back straps. The Omni Breeze’s shoulder straps are among the most nicely padded of the carriers I tested (only the Líllébaby Complete All Seasons has more padding along the shoulders), and I was able to put this carrier on easily by myself. This weight distribution wasn’t present in other carriers I tested, like the Infantino Flip 4-in-1 Convertible Carrier. This distributes the weight of the baby evenly, unloading your lower back, which prevents pain and helps to keep you in an ergonomic body position during long walks. The hip belt has supportive bracing in the front and the back (depending on how you wear it, you’ll have support at both your hips and your lower back). I ended up loving this carrier because it was so comfortable. Ergobaby has long been known as a maker of popular baby carriers, including its Omni 360, but the brand told me that it is discontinuing that carrier in favor of the newer Omni Breeze.
